Elite Spitbraai started back in the ’90s when my dad built a brand new spitbraai to try his cooking skills to friends and family. His braais were so famous that it quickly turned into a full-on catering service to weddings and events. I (Charl) used to be his right hand on these events, forever asking questions and catching tips from my mentor. A full 8 years thereafter only, was I allowed braaiing my first lamb on the spit.
